Pit Bulls are being euthanized because Indianapolis shelters are full. Grateful Rescue has a plan to save their lives.
The Indianapolis animal overpopulation is at a crisis level. The public shelter is bursting at the seams and is being forced to euthanize healthy, friendly animals for space on a regular basis.
Their only crime is taking up space.
Most of the victims are sweet Pit Bulls, often the most overlooked among homeless dogs. Some are saved at the last possible minute and will enjoy a good life.
Too many others are not so fortunate.
Grateful Rescue regularly pulls them off death row and finds a place for them to decompress until they land in their forever homes.
But Grateful, too, is running out of places to keep these good dogs. We do have the property and plan to build more housing. Each cost-effective building we add keeps 16 more dogs safe on their journey to the life they deserve.
The Pit Stop is focused on creating new space for Pitties that otherwise may not make it another day.
The more money we raise, the more dogs we save.
It’s just that simple. It’s just that humane.
And we are just that Grateful!
