Mission and Purpose
Our mission is to provide stress-free living for homeless animals until adopted, and if unable to be adopted they may live a comfortable life at our sanctuary. We connect people with animals, whether it be through adoption, education, or as a part of our therapy programs.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide stress-free living for homeless animals until adopted, and if unable to be adopted they may live a comfortable life at our sanctuary. We connect people with animals, whether it be through adoption, education, or as a part of our therapy programs.

Our Plan
To provide a place where each homeless domestic pet thrives, and people will come to adopt or foster.
Create a network of rescues we can support to stop the killing of homeless animals due to limited space.
Our Principles
-
The humane treatment of all animals.
-
Transparency of all animal shelters and rescues.
-
Legislation to regulate breeding and end puppy mills.
-
We advocate no-kill shelters.

Advocacy
Ending Puppy Mills
See the puppy mill dogs before and after as Grateful finds homes for them.
Transparency
“Transparency” relates to data collection from every animal shelter in every state for performance comparisons.
We can learn important information when key performance criteria is shared. Unfortunately, to date, less than twenty-percent of states require data to be shared.

Discrimination
We advocate legislation to end breed discrimination. Please join us in our fight by volunteering to help us pass legislation.

Trap-Neuter-Return
It stops the breeding cycle and therefore improves their lives while preventing reproduction and overpopulation. Since feral cats are not adoptable, they are commonly euthanized in shelters.

Grateful Rescue INC dba Grateful Rescue and Sanctuary is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that takes in homeless animals and provides rehabilitation, adoption and foster programs to place animals we receive.
We develop and present advocacy and educational programs that are presented to schools, businesses, government organizations and the general public. Our community outreach program includes free animal therapy services for people in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospice.
We offer free boarding and daycare for the pets of people meeting specific situations. We advocate the humane treatment of all animals and actively work with local and state governments to pass legislation that supports animal rights.
When our construction is complete, we will offer several expanded programs and retail facilities.
